At the April 15, 2025, Board of Education meeting, Assistant Superintendent Christina Laudermilt and Dr. Skaggs presented Katie Everson with a Golden Apple Award.
Mrs. Laudermilt spoke these kind words about Katie.
"Katie, you champion St. C Schools in every way imaginable. With your background in education, you get it - you understand the heart, the hustle, and the unwavering dedication it takes to make a difference in the lives of students. You see the work that often goes unnoticed, and you step in to make sure it shines.
Your impact is felt everywhere - from the excitement of Homecoming and Prom spirit weeks to the fun of holiday games and end-of-year celebrations. From the planning and execution of After Prom to organizing countless Teacher Appreciation Weeks and even spearheading the formation of the middle school PTA, your influence is far-reaching and deeply appreciated.
What you do for our students and staff is nothing short of extraordinary. Your tireless commitment to our district and each of its schools is truly inspiring. I know I speak on behalf of every staff member and student when I say thank you. Thank you for your time, your heart, and your endless creativity.
Thank you for making each person in this district feel seen and valued. Thank you for giving our students memories that will stay with them for a lifetime. While our teachers strive every day to leave a lasting mark on their students, please know - you are doing the same.
