Federal meal waivers from the USDA for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs that have been in place during the COVID-19 pandemic expired.

What does this mean for Parents and Guardians?

  • Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, students will no longer receive free lunch (unless they qualify for free or reduced-price meals).
  • Your student must be eligible for free or reduced-price meals through direct certification or a completed free or reduced-price meal application. The application will be available to complete beginning August 1, 2022. The most efficient way to apply is the electronic version on PaySchools Central. If you need a paper copy, please contact Lowell Perkins at 740-695-2477.
  • If your student was previously eligible, either by direct certification or an application, that status carries over for the first 30 days of the new school year. IMPORTANT NOTE: These applications also determine your child's eligibility for reduced or waived FEES. You must complete the application, or you will not be considered for reduced or waived school fees.
